Full Version: Finally reinstalled COD, but now it isn't working correctly

I just recently installed COD for the first time in a few years. One major problem I noticed was the fact that I cannot get past the first training mission because of grey textures that are on all of the buildings. The weapons training part where you have to toss nades into a building can't be done because I can't see the 3rd window or door or whatever it is. Updated all of my drivers, and I know my computer can run it because I can run cod:mw2. Specs are AMD Athlon X2 4200+, 2 gigs DDR400, NVidia GeForce 7600GT PCI-E w/ 256mb, and 750gb SATA drive, sound blaster audigy 2 platinum.

Any help would be appreciated.

If it lets you, install DX from the COD disc (to get all the really old D3D drivers) then update DX on the internet to add the new DX & D3D drivers?

I see what you are saying but it kinda doesn't make sense in a way. Wouldn't 9.0c include the 9.0b drivers? I also don't even get any sound coming from the guy in the tower or my guns, or the clicking noise when you scroll over the selections on the main screen.

Totally befuddled.

The reason I suggested it is because although the updates are susposed to contain everything prior, with microsofts interim updates, full updates, and god-knows-what that is included on the original game disc, it can be quite easy to miss out something crucial.

Getting some sound but not others would suggest missing game files as opposed to a driver issue (since some files work) but with textures at least COD is always very keen to stop loading your map and give you a "___.ff/.iwd/.accu etc is missing" message.

As you say, confusing. I don't have any solid ideas, this is just general trouble-shooting & speculation based on experience.
