Okay, so last night I had a round of 53-1 at Wasteland, but my "Longest Killstreak" in the Barracks still sits at 25. I was curious if this had happened to someone else. I started off 1-1 and then got on a streak, and with the help of a friend (on my team...) I got 52 straight kills using his care package and emergency airdrop items as well as my care package, predator, and harrier strike. Granted it's not that big of a deal to me, since I know it happened, and so does my friend, but it sucks knowing I went 52 straight and it only shows 25.

Maybe the kills you got using his kill streak rewards didn't count?

Care Package and EAD rewards don't count towards the killstreak.

I understand it doesn't go towards your killstreak rewards, but it doesn't work towards your longest streak either? That sucks. haha.

I've had similar problems, but not using Care Packages or EADs. I generally play FFA, and my Max Killstreak shows at 19, despite having had a 27 killstreak using Predator, Harrier Strike and Pavelow, all of which should count.

It's not something that bothers me per se, as it's not affecting gameplay. Interesting to note though.

theres a glitch wtih the pavelow, you have to get one extra kill and then call in the pavelow for the kills to count

I did suspect it might be something like that. Ah well, guess I might have to kill someone myself for a change!

Every single killstreak reward that you get from a care package or an emergency air drop does not count towards your effective killstreak, or your highest killstreak. The only way to make them count is to earn them by getting the killstreak.

yeh the pave has a glitch , i remember pulling in 29 first week playing and I was gutted my streak stayed static, Im still not clued into how the whole streak thing works, eg :
in cod4 u could die call in ur chopper then get another chopper it doesnt seem to work in mw2 yet sometimes every now and again I can get multiple streaks from previous air attacks, its infuriating as some nights im going like 44-2 or 39-1 yet my kill streak is embrassingly bad, my mates whom which I beat regularly laugh at how it hasnt increased ( so to speak heh) .

So If I get my predator, harrier, then my pave low but die during the pave low, and when I come back its still killing, I don't get a predator from it? Well, that explains it.

What if I save my pave low or anything else I get and call it after I die? I don't get credit for them?

Im pretty sure I know the answers from experience but just wanna make sure.
